EMS USA's Data Management team is managed by experts with over 50 years of combined expertise in gas measurement. The division is comprised of several services that are uniquely designed to be user friendly and save our customers time and money. From Chart Integration to settling legal disputes, EMS truly is your one-stop-shop for all of your Data Management needs.

Normally a Pumper would physically have to drive to each meter to get all of the necessary data. But with our trademarked Electronic PumperTM , we make the live pumper’s job more efficient. With an Electronic Flow Meter (EFM) and a communication device such as a Raven, the valuable information you need can be electronically & automatically sent to our PGAS® software system. Then the pumpers can log in from any internet connection and view/edit the raw data to better plan their daily route and address any issues or emergency situations first. A second option is allowing us to apply the gas qualities for you and send you daily volume statements that are corrected/filtered. This data can also be loaded into WebView and/or SCADA View where you can access your information 24/7 as well as have the ability to view histories and trends (WebView) and real-time data (SCADA View) upon your discretion.

EMS USA's Data Management team is comprised of the following services:

Volume Statements
Chart Integration services can validate and edit gas volumes to account for hi/lo zero, closed taps, meter freezes, faulty equipment, etc., via the process outlined below:

After a chart is collected from the field and integrated; the pressure, temperature and differentials are imported into PGAS® which will calculate the volumes. From there the customer can log into PGAS® and see all their valuable information. We can also provide the back office services that can clean up the raw data by applying the gas qualities for the customer and providing them with legal corrected/filtered data. This data can be accessed by simply logging into WebView from any internet connection with the proper user name and password. This also creates a paper audit trail. EMS USA’s Data Management Division will complete the monthly closes in an average of 5 days versus the 25 days it could take using other methods. As a result, our customers are able to maintain a healthy cash flow by having the ability to bill their customers in a more timely fashion.

Raw or Filtered Data
PGAS® provides EMS with the tools necessary to review and make changes to imported (scanned or laptop collected) meter data based on gas composition, orifice plate changes, missing volumes, etc., as well as automatically performing various calculations to determine content and value of measured volumes. PGAS® functions consist of verification of gas quality, verification of billing, verification of meter testing/calibrating, monitoring of actual volumes versus nominations, system balancing, performing internal audits and settling legal disputes.

Back Office Services
Back Office services includes Pipeline balancing (lost and unaccounted for) which will identify equipment malfunctions and measurement errors. This will also include identifying problem locations through segmentation and balance groups and will minimize losses and expediting solutions. Auditing also falls under Back Office Services along with consulting and training services (to develop or improve processes), regulatory reporting, staff supplementing (remote or embedded) and special projects.

Historical Data
WebView interfaces with PGAS® (available in both metric and standard units of measurement) and displays customer data, reports and monthly statements. WebView can validate data entry and effective dates as well as perform monthly closes, produce prior period adjustments (PPA’s) and interfaces with online measurement tools (PGAS®).

This includes various calculations to determine content and value of measured volumes. WebView also displays histories of all meter sites which can be viewed as raw data or corrected/filtered data. The histories can also be used for invoicing and Sarbanes Oxley compliant reporting.

Real-Time Data
SCADA View displays live data from all meters. There is a demand scan feature that allows for a view of live meter data for any desired meter. We can also provide design, implementation and trouble shooting for SCADA services, communications, measurements and controls.
