Background
Founded in early 2003, a team of energy industry professionals led by Tim Nesler had a vision; to create a ‘one-stop-shop’ pipeline service company that would change the way pipeline operations and maintenance would be managed in the U.S. (and ultimately throughout North America). The company would be known as Energy Maintenance Services (EMS). 

Within the first few months of operation EMS looked towards making a key acquisition to move from the boardroom to the operations side of the energy sector. A strategic decision was made to purchase Hanover Measurement Services, LP, and created EMS Pipeline Services. From that moment on, it was clear that an aggressive expansion program was underway. Alliances were formed and further acquisitions were made. Meanwhile, the operations side of the business was growing fast and the fledgling brand was creating a reputation for providing quality operations and maintenance services within the pipeline industry.

EMS’s successes have been recognized by both the energy industry and the general business community. EMS has been nominated and been presented with several awards including The World Oil Awards, and the Houston Business Journal's Small Business Award, two years in a row. Most recently EMS was recognized once again, by the Houston Business Journal as the eleventh fastest growing privately held company.

Today – EMS currently employs more than 1,500 pipeline operations professionals and provides a full range of operations and maintenance (O&M) services to more than 500 clients including many blue chip oil and gas exploration and production companies, major pipeline operators, local distribution companies (LDCs), and independent power, refiners, utilities, LNG, power and pipeline operators throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
