Knowledge and understanding of the distribution system

• Assist in compiling existing distribution system data
• Identify gaps in existing data and devise plan for gaining additional system information
• Line Locating, GPS Surveying and Mapping of the System
• Integrate system data and asset location into a GIS database
• Host and manage the GIS database
• Total system Integrity Assessment

Identify threats to the system

• Assist in performing study to identify threats that affect the system
• Assist in performing study to identify potential threats that “could” affect the system
• Cathodic Protection system evaluation

Evaluate threats and rank the associated risk

• Evaluate identified threats to determine importance and rank the associated risk of each

Identify and implement measures to mitigate these risks

• Establish a Leak Management System
• Leak detection surveys
• System Patrols
• Cathodic Protection surveys
• Equipment repairs, replacement & installation
• Pipe Replacement
• Pipe coating repairs
• Installation of Excess Flow Valve (EFVs)
• Installation of barriers in appropriate locations
• Provide Operator Qualification training & support to operator personnel
• Develop a Corrosion manual

Measure the performance, monitor results and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures

• Assist operator in compiling required performance measures
• Assist operator in determining if additional performance measures are appropriate for the system

Periodic evaluation & improvement

• Assist in performing study to re-evaluate established risks to the system and consider results of ongoing performance monitoring to determine if risk factors have changed or if new risks to the system are present
• Audit Operating & Maintenance Procedures
• Audit Operator Qualification, Public Awareness and Drug & Alcohol programs

Reporting of these results

• Compile required performance metrics data
• Filing of Annual Reports
