Mr. Cunningham is a seasoned executive officer with over 30 years of energy industry experience and 11 years at the managing executive level, which includes personal accountability for multi-faceted pipeline operations organizations with professional and technical staff in excess of 500 employees.
Mr. Cunningham was also responsible for the initial development and implementation of the pipeline integrity program for one of the country’s largest refined products liquid pipeline companies. He developed an optimized pipeline smart-pig inspection and rehabilitation program that reduced historic costs by forty percent.
His industry-leading knowledge allowed decisions to be made as early as 1991, based on overall risk reduction, that are now adopted in the DOT rulemaking for pipeline integrity programs. As Senior Vice President of Operations at EMS USA, Mr. Cunningham is responsible for the company’s Pipeline Management and Pipeline Integrity Management Service Lines. He has a thorough knowledge of pipeline operations, maintenance and environmental and safety compliance in all phases of the pipeline life cycle. Prior to working for EMS USA, Mr. Cunningham held senior positions with TEPPCO, Union Carbide, and Mainline Solutions. He has a J.D. from Bates College of Law and a BS in chemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
