This Business Unit specializes in DOT pipeline work and maintains a regular workforce of 120 employees -- all with varied skill sets and NCCER Operator Qualifications for assigned covered tasks. All Company personnel have undergone safety, OSHA, and regulatory compliance training in accordance to their work assignments and job site situations. This Business Unit’s key supervisors come from diverse and extensive backgrounds. Each supervisor has more than 20 years of knowledge and experience gained by working for major oil pipeline companies in maintenance, operations and engineering areas. EMS USA employees know the daily issues that arise with safety, compliance, operations and quality performance for on-time results. They are very proud of the company's exemplary safety record, and they strive each day to maintain this record. Current projects underway include D.O.T. compliance work for large oil companies including: Exxon Mobil Pipeline, Shell Pipeline, TEPPCO and Marathon Ashland Petroleum. One of our biggest keys to success is safety. Our safety programs are reviewed by various agencies and have successfully met all requirements of the following review boards:
Pipeline Operator Qualification Our liquid pipeline operations and maintenance (O&M) personnel meet the requirements of the Pipeline Operator Qualification Rule ((49 CFR 192(N) and 49 CFR 195(G)) through evaluations following the Pipeliner Training and Assessment Program (PTAP), which was developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) jointly with the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the DOT. The PTAP consists of Pipeliner Curriculum and Pipeline Skills Assessments. Operator qualifications are confirmed through NCCER assessments, as well as performance verifications. For gas pipeline operations and maintenance, we supply personnel who have been Operator-Qualified using Veriforce evaluations. EMS USA’s Construction and Rehabilitation Services West Business Unit is based in Pearland, TX and has over 18 years of experience performing a full range of services to support pipeline operators across the U.S. and in Central America. Services include smart pig excavations, nitrogen purges, cut outs, mainline repairs, hydrostatic testing, casing repairs, fabrication, new installations, tank work, refinery maintenance, and more.
