Mr. Rizk is a results-oriented energy industry executive with over 20 years of expertise in corrosion evaluation and mitigation of a wide variety of buried and submerged steel structures. He has extensive experience in pipeline integrity management, ECDA and SCCDA processes, internal corrosion monitoring and control, and failure and rupture analysis. His experience includes projects involving liquid and gas pipelines, compressor stations, aboveground storage tank terminals, refineries, and corrosion control of offshore platforms.
Prior to joining EMS USA, Mr. Rizk served as Principal Corrosion Specialist for El Paso Corporation from 2005 to 2007. From 1987 to 2005, Mr. Rizk held various positions for an international corrosion engineering firm, including Vice President of Engineering, and Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Rizk focuses on asset management and asset life extension through effective corrosion control using a threat prioritization matrix to better allocate maintenance resources. His broad extensive operational management experience has led him to develop a client-focused, employee-oriented management style.
Mr. Rizk is a Licensed Professional Engineer in eleven states, including Texas. He holds certification as a NACE Certified Cathodic Protection Specialist and a NACE Certified Cathodic Protection Instructor. Mr. Rizk is also an instructor at West Virginia University, Appalachian Short Corrosion Course, for various corrosion topics.
He holds a Masters of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from San Jose State University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Akron, Ohio.
